DerbyCityPrints.com is the online presence for Louisville Antiques Prints & Posters - a family owned boutique located in beautiful Louisville, Kentucky – home of the Kentucky Derby.

The gallery, located in an historic converted train station in the heart of Louisville’s suburban shopping district, features nearly 3000 square feet of floorspace exhibiting a fine variety of imported Asian and European antiques and furniture accessories. The showroom’s 25 foot exposed brick walls are covered with hundreds of custom framed prints and posters.

In addition to framed items, Louisville Antiques Prints & Posters is home to nearly twenty thousand un-framed original antique prints. Our vast selection of antique and vintage prints includes a pleasingly substantial assortment of prints with strong representation in a broad range of areas suitable for the diverse and discriminating palette.

Right off the wall or out of our drawers we offer an amazing selection sure to satisfy the most discerning design needs.

From the time tested natural history art of Audubon’s Ornithology and the plant lovers Curtis’ Botanicals, to the sporting scenes of Henry Alken, or Thomas Mckenney’s Native American Indian’s we keep a strong selection of images sure to satisfy the most traditionally minded décor.

More adventurous tastes are sure to revel in our exciting choice of haute couture fashion art and pochoir designs from the Jazz Age’s crème de la crème of Art Deco illustrators including abundant choices from the likes of Barbier, Brunelleschi, Benito, Marty, Iribe, etc.

The “ephemeral” minded will enjoy choosing from our astounding selection of vintage advertising art, sports ephemera, Victorian era postcards, glass lantern slides, etc.

We also maintain a fine assortment of original vintage posters including Liquor Posters, Olympic Posters, Movie Posters, Psychedelic Rock Posters; WWI Propaganda Posters, European Travel and Destination Posters, and Airline Posters from names like Klein and Kauffer. Almost all of the famous carriers are represented including Air France, Pan Am, United, TWA, etc. Conservationist linen mounted and ready for framing, these uniquely collectible images are stabilized and suitable for conspicuous display in design conscious homes.

Pride of place is reserved for our amazingly immense specialized selection of scarce and unique Belle Epoque and fin de siecle illustration art from a staggering array of periodicals and journals with numerous examples from the best of the period’s artists including notables such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Steinlen, Mucha, Vallotton, Cheret, Villon, and more.

Did we mention books? We also carry an eclectic variety out of print and rare books – with some strong examples in plate books, books about books, art history, and art reference texts.

Needless to say… you’re sure to find a superlative selection.

Whatever your area of interest you’ll find our gallery well equipped to help you find the right print for your space. While you choose, compare, and peruse our selection you'll find many of our unique accommodations most useful.

-Our custom built “print display unit” – a 13’ x 13’ neutral toned display table housed under good strong overhead lighting- is a welcome change for print collectors more accustomed to buying prints in dusty antique stores or the cramped booths of antique fairs. Patrons enjoy laying out 8 or 10 large prints on this table and making use of our selection of archival matte corners to visualize multiple examples of how a print or selection of prints might look once framed. A large surface is paramount for this type of approach to choosing from a selection of prints and allows for definitive aesthetic clarity when isolating that perfect grouping of prints for your home or office.

-Our amazingly accessible poster display area houses hundreds of posters (including the mammoth 47” x 63” format) with each poster suspended from an overhead track unit affording smooth, quick, and easy movement of the poster, thereby making it simple for you to navigate the choices with utmost ease and minimal interruption.

-We maintain an in-store computer kiosk solely devoted to displaying the DerbyCityPrints.com website. The kiosk -specifically reserved for customer use- affords patrons a personalized opportunity to quickly navigate our inventory without needing to examine a large range of undesirables. Using the kiosk can be a quick and effective way to zero in on a specific print or to help identify an area of interest or ‘decorative theme’. Every item available on the DerbyCityPrints.com website is immediately accessible to gallery visitors, and using DerbyCityPrint.com's rapid search and parsing algorithms makes for quick work when isolating and identifying a desired print for selection fom our numerous flat-file storage cabinets.

Of course, a big benefit of visiting the gallery is the availability to choose from our inventory which hasn’t made it online yet (the best prints are those discovered when least expected). We endeavor to maintain a low-hassle sales approach and place strong emphasis on educating customers about the history, technique, preservation, and design issues one confronts when searching for unique images to best compliment a home or office.

We encourage you to visit our gallery… We're sure you'll find something to please.
