This print exists in two states unique to L'Escarmouche. In the one offered here, the letter text at bottom reads; A La R . - Sara Bernhardt dans Phèdre In the alternate (for sale upon request); A La Renaissance. - Sarah Bernhardt dans Phèdre. We are not clear which is the variant vis a vis the publication, but the later Kleinmann 'limited' impressions do not display the abbreviated form. While we do not find variation in the image matrix Adriani indicates that three trial proofs of this image are known; comparison of this image with those proofs could be of interest.
